No Anglers On The Fryingpan Tail Water??

Don't try and drive down if the roads not plowed.

No one at 11:30am!

The Fryingpan Midge

A Tail Water to Himself

Fishing in the winter can be cold and tough, but the rewards can also be well worth the trip. It snowed around a half foot the night before and we found ourselves with a famous Colorado River empty, peaceful, and untouched all morning. To say the least this is very unusual for the Fryingpan, but I’m not gonna complain about it. The next day highs were back up into the 40’s and 50’s, the road was plowed, and plenty of anglers were on the water. Go figure! Good thing the Roaring Fork is close.

Nice - you were the only tracks in! That has to be a great feeling - knowing you have the river to yourself, with the exception of maybe a couple bears! Nice pics.
