The Bugs of Summer

With the unusually cool temperatures throughout this past Spring, we have seen a delay of the runoff and inturn a postponed hatch scheduling. Compared to last year we are about three weeks behind on many of the highly anticipated insects. On my recent trips around Colorado and Wyoming I have been witness to the incredible summer hatches that many of us dream about all winter long. Currently, many of the rivers throughout the region are having great Pale Morning Duns, Yellow Sallies, Golden Stones and a variety of Caddis flying around. The Green Drakes are just starting to show and will be full force in the coming week in those certain river systems. Here are a few of the photos to get you warmed up for the bugs of summer.
